If you have 5 minutes in the morning and these 5 ingredients available, you are in for a super refreshing and delicious treat! Let me share with you one of the best summer smoothie recipes you'll find in the web.
There's very little time and effort needed to make this Grapefruit, Pomegranate and Banana Smoothie and you will be reaping the benefits all day long. Its refreshing zingy and sweet flavour makes it the perfect summer day breakfast or midday snack.
To make this delight all you'll need is a blender, throw everything in it, adjust the amount of water and ice to get to your preferred consistency and in less than 5 minutes you'll be pouring yourself a glass of pink goodness.
I usually skip the juicer all together, instead, I just squeeze the grapefruit straight into the blender and throw the pomegranate seeds in there as well. I used to juice the pomegranate, I thought the seeds might damage my blender, I don't bother any more since I've found that a decent blender does the job just fine and it takes away a couple of steps.
I really like this smoothie since it is very light compared to other smoothies made with plant based milk, but since it has protein powder in it and almonds, it turns out to be kinda like a mousse so it is actually quite filling, sometimes this is all I need to get me through the morning.
This smoothie is a total immune and beauty booster, you're getting a nice cocktail of benefits that work together to keep you healthy and beautiful. Here are just some of them:
Pomegranate:
Packed with antioxidants, anti viral and anti tumor properties, Vitamin C, A, and E and folic acid. Reduces heart problems, stomach disorders, sore throat. Helps recover strength after sickness and clears skin.
Grapefruit:

Reduce risk of diabetes and heart disease. Help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and bloods pressure. It nourishes the skin.
To give this pretty pink smoothie a little extra kick we are adding about an ounce of protein powder which will get us 20g of plant based protein to kickstart the day. I like using the unflavored powder so I don't loose the sweet and tangy flavor of all the fruits we've included in this smoothie.
As you can see, we are getting a lot more than what we're putting in, which in this hot summer morning is exactly what we need.
