Smoothies…. The one and only important factor of life!
Okay, so that might be exaggerating. There are plenty more important things in life, like food (that isn’t made into a smoothie), love, laughter, and family. But smoothies are pretty high up on that list, at least for me.
So if you couldn’t tell, I’m a smoothie fan. Maybe obsessed is a better word. Yes, obsessed with smoothies. And this obsession is for a good reason – this is probably the easiest, quickest, and most direct way to get great tasting nutrition into your body. They are fun and can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Did you know that when food is broken down into almost liquid state (or a smoothie), it’s easier for your body to process? This means that you are able to receive more of the essential vitamins and minerals that the ingredients contain. One more amazing reason to add smoothies into your life!
To make this recipe, you will need 5 ingredients and 5 minutes. I wasn’t joking about how easy it is to make and I won’t joke about this either – cleaning up is a breeze! You will only need a blender and perhaps a knife. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Lime, Avocado, Kiwi, and Grapefruit make up the ingredients of this recipe. Although each is an impressive fruit on its own, together they provide us with a whole host of vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, copper, dietary fiber, vitamin C, ‘good/healthy fats,’ potassium, and folate. That’s just to name a few!
The lime, avocado, kiwi and grapefruit smoothie is the perfect pick me for anytime of the day because it’s:
Smoothies are best consumed not long after making them. But in case you do need to store any, pop the smoothie into an airtight container or mug and place it in the fridge for up to 48 hours. The smoothie will start to go flat and bland should you store it for too long, so be mindful of the length of storage.
