It is time for another delicious green smoothie. If you've been here before you know how much we love our smoothies. It had been a while but the wait was worth the while. I have a delicious Strawberry Spinach Protein smoothie recipe for you that is out of this world.
Breakfast is a tricky thing, it is so necessary but sometimes it is hard to get to it. There are many reasons why we skip breakfast. Time is a big one for a lot of us that have busy schedules with kids, and jobs, and just life.
Also, I've heard a lot of people say they don't crave a big solid meal first thing in the morning. It can feel too heavy when your body is just trying to wake up and get going. I always recommend having a light refreshing smoothie in these cases.
First of all, this strawberry spinach smoothie takes 5 minutes to make. So, if you are low on time or you have a few mouths to feed this recipe will do wonders for you. All you have to do is throw the ingredients in the blender, give it a spin, and serve. It can't get easier than that!
Our spinach smoothie is super light and refreshing, I like to say that it tastes like summer. We made it so each ingredient adds a ton of nutrients and a touch of flavour to your drink. This way, you will be properly fuelled without having that awful after-eating heavy feeling.
Sometimes, adding a lot of fruits into the same smoothie can be a bit heavy to the stomach due to the amount of sugar they contain. Some people can deal with it, some people can't. For that reason, I decided to mix strawberries and spinach in the same recipe and not much else.
I really like the strawberry and spinach combo of this smoothie. This is what makes it so refreshing. Also, we are adding both of them frozen. It's a lot easier and it will allow you to make this delicious recipe year-round.
Green smoothies can have a bad reputation but I think it depends of what makes your green smoothie green. Spinach has a very mild grassy taste, I would say it is kinda neutral when you compare it to kale or let say, roquette. This is why spinach is so good for smoothies, it won't overpower the taste of the rest of the ingredients.
And by adding spinach you are packing on vitamins K, A, And C, and folate. It's a great source of manganese, Iron fiber, folic acid, among many other nutrients. This is why it is so important to pack on leafy greens. And it is so much easier when it comes in a smoothie form!
Our spinach smoothie also has dates, flaxseeds, almond milk, and a bit of protein powder. All the good stuff in one single smoothie! You will love the taste, the consistency, and the nourishing effects of this delicious strawberry and spinach smoothie!
